Cool Breezy Saturday

Snoop woke me up one minute before my alarm went off at 12:30 today. How he knew I reset the alarm for two hours later is anybody's guess. But it's a glorious 73F out there today... and overcast, with strong breezes!
The absolute perfect weather, in my opinion! Low heat... lots of ventilation... no direct sunlight! Ahhhhhh!
We sat out in back for a solid hour, just vibing. But in that time, I did run the hose out to Natalie and bubble her for 10 minutes.
She did have a few dried out leaves on her, so she definitely needed it.
My main task for today is to advance the ball on HD2.0 as far as possible. I'm gonna start with the epoxy, but maybe I can get to drilling holes for hardware, and treating them with preservative.
And maybe I can even get one side of it painted before bed.
A lawn mow needs to happen today too... though if I only get the back, and leave the front for tomorrow, that'll be fine.
I don't have to be anywhere... except for Fiesta Food Mart for smokes.
So, I should be able to get some shit done on this cool breezy Saturday!
Well, it took a while for me to get going, and I had to run for smokes first, but when I got back Yvette reminded me that it was time for her big Saturday walk around the block.
So after all of that, I did patch up the plywood on the topside and the four edge sides... then put the fan on it full blast for the night.
I also cut a 1X4 to just shy of four feet to act as a footer for the leading edge of the door... and I brought it up to the porch and gave it a good coat of preservative.
After that though, I just didn't feel like doing anything else.
I have the kitchen window open, and the door to the porch, because it's just so nice and cool tonight... and after the intensity of this past week, all I wanna do is chill on the porch, drink some beer, and enjoy the fact that the heat wave is over.
Okay, I'm out on the porch in the rocker, and it's a glorious 60F out here.
I just got off the phone with Tim, but before we started talking, I did flip the plywood over and patch the flip side.
So it should all be dry enough in the morning to sand and move on to drilling hardware holes.
That will leave me mornings before work, this week to paint it.
I also took all my measurements of the soviet rotary phone mike, and the wire I got for it (it's 18 AWG) and found the right sized cap, boot, compression spring, and hose clamp... threw them in the shopping cart with the Fender amp... and hit the button.
And Amazon says it'll all be here tomorrow (Sunday).
So I did manage to hit my marks today.
And more importantly, I'm clocking some quality rocker time on the porch!
I fixed this porch up, and painted it, and fastened this glider rocker to the floor for a reason, back in 21.
As Dad was on his death bed, it filled up with junk again, like it always did... his last swipe at turning it back into the depressing clutter closet that he knew.
But the hatch door project forced me to clear it out again, and the heat wave taught me to cherish these rare nights, when the temperature's just right to rock... with the kitchen door open, and the lights down low.
