79F and sunny. Today was my sick day to renew my drivers license, so I texted Chantele at 7:30AM that I was ill, then slept until 10:30AM.
After walking Yvette, I went over to the DMV, and was greeted outside by a very desperate looking employee who told me, Nuh-nuh Noo!.. The DMV no longer accepts walk-ins!
He handed me a card with a QR code to scan to make an appointment.
Of course I was already fucking flabberghasted, because, fuck you!.. my house is going to get foreclosed on if I can't get this today!
But I scanned the code in the car and saw that, the earliest appointment was for Saturday, July 29th!!!
--<>--
Now, I HAVE to point out here, for you, that this appointment bullshit has NEVER been done before!
There was NO warning about it, either on my notice that came back in May, OR on their website, or their Google listing!
In fact, only six months ago they let DAD right in that same door!.. to get his license renewed.
And if they had forced HIM to get an appointment... HE MIGHT STILL BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW!
------------{=0=}------------
Okay, so, I tried not to panic. Maybe I could renew it online! I'd have to check the notice they sent when I got back home.
But I wasn't gonna waste this sick day from work!
So I drove over to Jiffy Lube to take care of that, "MAINT REQ'D" light on my dash board!
The guys there, confirmed that this was just a reminder light for an oil change and not a check engine light. The car wasn't showing any codes.
So they changed the oil and the radiator coolant, and topped off the trans fluid. They also filled the tires and changed the cabin filter.
$220.00, and they said it's not due for a tune up until the next oil change.
--<>--
Once back home, I checked my DL notice and NO, I cannot renew it online, because I'm due to take the eye test and the written test!
So I went online to make the goddam appointment... only to see that the Aurora DMV I was just at... was no longer on the list!
Kinda like the vet back around Easter being on bypass!
But I checked Saint Charles, and Naperville, and ended up making an appointment in Naperville for Wednesday, the 26th, at 11AM (a week from now).
I screencapped the appointment confirmation, then printed it out.
--<>--
I then scanned both Mom and Dad's death certificates, and saved them as PDFs.
After that, I scanned the front and back of my current, expired license, along with that appointment confirmation, and the front and back of my work ID... saving that whole group as another PDF.
I already had PDFs of the two deed documents.
So I emailed all the PDFs to Kevin, with text explaining what happened, and I'm currently waiting for him to go over everything and get back to me.
The idea here is, I'd rather send BMO this stuff tonight, then have them wait another goddam week with no word at all from me.
We'll see what Kevin says.
------------{=0=}------------
So... the car was now good to go, and the docs for BMO are... as complete as I can get them today.
But all the surge protectors I ordered last week came today!
So, I went around installing them for;
I then plugged all three of the security cameras into their own surge protectors, and... after the WIFI repeater was online... went around to reconfigure them.
I deleted the three camera profiles from the app, and added them all as new devices.
But all three responded, connected to the repeater, and came back online!
--<>--
That was an hour ago, and all three continue to work, and the repeater is nice and cool!
So... NOW I can finally do the tests I wanted to do with that repeater.
Basically, the backroom computer (which I am writing on at the moment) is no longer connecting to that repeater.
And the theory is that the repeater will stay cool, now that it only has to talk to the cameras.
The carboard on the back room windows may also help, because the sun had been making the back room as hot as a car interior!.. and the repeater is right by the doorway between the back room and the kitchen (and has to be there to get signal to the cameras at their remote locations).
We shall see!
I'm gonna try to leave the repeater run 24/7, and see what happens.
------------{=0=}------------
SO!.. while the DMV is currently fucking me over... I HAVE taken care of several other issues that were nearly as important as the mortgage.
The car's good to go, everything in the house is surge protected, and the security cameras are back up and running... possibly permanently.
So, I shouldn't have to worry about power bumps... I should be able to get around without any worries about the car... and the house should be safe, both while I'm gone, and while I'm sleeping.

11:36PM
Okay!.. after getting Kevin's go ahead, via email, and some moral support from Tim on the phone, I did send off all the documents to the email provided by BMO, with a suitable cover letter... that included both the loan numbers... TONIGHT... before midnight!
Those PDF documents included;

- Letter from BMO requesting the documents
- Death certificates of both Mom and Dad
- Transfer on Death document (deed)
- Notice of Death & Acceptance affidavit (deed)
- My drivers license, renewal appointment letter, and work ID
And in the cover letter I requested they confirm receipt of the email... and included my phone number, email, and home address.
So... my move has been made!
And it was important to get this email timestamped as having been sent on the 18th, because as of tomorrow, that balloon payment will be one full month past due!
This drama is still only in it's early stages, and it's not at all clear how it will resolve... but at least I can prove, I have not been dragging my feet about it.--<>--
In other news, Yvette and I went for another walk around the block today... I took out the garbage... and I sat in the back yard and watched the bats again at dusk.
Tomorrow is back to work like normal... hopefully with the cameras working while I'm out.
I made the best I possibly could, of my sick day.
