66F this morning, and overcast. Can't complain about that! There's not any rain predicted until after 10PM, but it should stay cloudy until then.

Apparently there were multiple funnel clouds spotted throughout Chicagoland yesterday, all around the same time.

Two or three touched down causing property damage... one in Elgin... not sure of the other ones, but nothing near here.

A case of 9 Lives cat food was on the stoop this morning. I ordered it last night, because we ran out.

I'm doing an InstaCart order once I get to work

Well, it turns out I needed a lot more than groceries today.

With the emergency cat food delivery this morning, and everything else I wound up buying, this was truly an everything day!

First, on the way to work, I realized I was almost out of gas. So on my break I ran and filled up the tank.

Then I put in an InstaCart order for groceries, which were delivered about 10 minutes before I got home.

While putting them away, I realized I was low on beer!.. so I had to run out and get more of that too!

But it wasn't just a; cat food, gas, groceries, and beer day... because I also put in a new Amazon order.

That began with me thinking about the fact that all three security cameras are currently unresponsive.

They still have power, but don't connect to the WIFI repeater.

So the repeater could finally be toast, AND/OR... the cameras were screwed up by the multiple power bumps the other night!

So I got to wondering if they make single outlet surge protectors, and they do!

I ordered two of these four packs to use them around the house for lower voltage stuff like the cameras, or... whatever.

But I also ordered more specific types of surge protectors for other applications...

This surge protecting power strip has a fifteen foot cord, so it's perfect for the recording studio. I can plug it directly into the outlet down in the basement, without having to use an extension cord.

It should then protect the computer, monitor, and other equipment in here, if there's a power bump while everything's on.

But I still intend to kill power to the strip when I'm not in here.

This one is for in the kitchen, for the fridge, and the WIFI repeater/cooling fan apparatus.

And I ordered two of these, for the two window air conditioners... in the back room, and in the upstairs front room.

I spent a good $130 on the stuff above, but... after those seven power bumps in a row?.. Yes, these are needed!

I've already lost the sound card to the new computer... just from a shitty extension cord. and I may have lost the cameras and/or the repeater to those bumps.

And I know I lost a the smart plug that was controlling the basement fan to the bumps.

And of course, bumps don't just fry electronics, they can start fires, with higher amp appliances like the fridge or the AC units.

When those bumps were happening the other night, I was floundering around in the dark trying to find a flashlight... didn't even have my phone on me!

And then I was confused for a bit, before realizing I had to run around the house, up and down stairs to start shutting things off.

God forbid something like that happened when I wasn't home!

And, of course, it's not just a summer thing. Power bumps can happen in the winter too, if there's ice on the power lines, or just high winds.

Hopefully all I have to do with the cameras is reconfigure them, and they'll work again.

But I won't bother with that until I have the protectors, which won't be here until next Tuesday.

And if the WIFI repeater also survived, then we'll see if it can keep from overheating, now that I've got the back room computer using the main house WIFI.

It's possible that the high bandwidth demands of the back room computer were helping it to overheat.

Okay, so that's my everything day!

I now have groceries, gas, pet food, and beer, as we head into the weekend.

Now I'm gonna fire up FL Studio and work on the song some more.
