82F today, but humid, thanks to the rain earlier in the week... and the smoky haze persists.

So... kinda looks and feels gross out there!

InstaCart groceries were waiting for me when I got home tonight, and I brought the garbage bins in from the curb.

Now I'm writing this entry... but offline, because it's too hot for the WIFI repeater to stay up.

It's finally time to reconfigure the irrigation system!

Both the birch site, and the barbecue site are finally grown in!

So now... the 30ft hose and sprinker I was using for the birch site can be moved over by the side porch, and hooked up to the music room hose bib... as soon as I prep that area with soil and seed.

And the two sprinklers in back can be repositioned to get what remains of the ruts, hill, and old shed site.

So... it's gonna be back near 90F, both tomorrow and Friday, but I really should get that side yard area by the porch prepped, because it will then rain on Saturday and Sunday.

I got a little done in the yard before sundown... an overlooked hunk of concrete sticking out of the ground behind the new shed, up on the hill.

It's always been an obstacle to the lawnmower, and now that the hill is getting nice and grassy... it had to go!

So I got it up out of the ground and moved it over by the shed, then filled in the hole with dirt and seed.

After a quick dinner, I settled into the studio for the evening and continued working on the going song.

I figured out how to work up a really great guitar sounding part for the refrain... the musical hook, essentially.

But when I went to save... it said that the plugin I'd used to create the riff was trial only, and I'd have to purchase it, or the block I'd just composed, would be locked, next time I opened the file!

Silly me, thinking I could just use all the features!

So, first I googled to see... if I paid for the Producer Edition, would I get all these plugins?

Cuz, that'd be cheeper than paying for them one at a time.

And well... yeah, you do get some extra plugins with Producer Edition.

But SOME plugins... like the one I'd just used, you just have to pay extra for no matter what version of FL Studio you own!

Nobody said anything about this in the YouTube videos!

But... as the old saying goes... "That's how they get'cha!"

So... I ponied up... SEVENTY BUCKS!

But... that's the nature of this game, I guess.

I WILL use this synth plugin a lot, for as long as I continue to record, so... over the long run it's worth it, I guess.

But... clearly, this hobby's gonna be an ongoing investment.

I probably will end up paying to upgrade to Producer Edition, just because the results so far are sounding a little too good to just slap a dry vocal over it with Audacity?

I dunno... we'll see about that.

But the song is slowly coming along, and I'm learning this new game.

And it's probably good to have this going on right now, when there's gonna be a lot of down time, due to high humidity and blast furnace heat outside.
