snoozefestaudio81F and partly cloudy out there, with strong, gusty wind blowing through the tree tops.
We got a decent rain storm last night, complete with some thunder & lightning. But things were dry as Yvette, Snoop, and I, lingered out in back today.
The forecast is calling for some more rain tonight and tomorrow, and I hope it comes, because we can use every drop we can get right now.
Last night I put together the rhythm track for the entire song, "Closer to You."
I haven't programmed a rhythm track in fifteen years!.. but I used to do it all the time, on a little drum machine I had back then.
Doing it on windows based software, with a mouse and a monitor was a hell of a lot easier, but it still took a long time, and I was up until 5AM.
Today I'm gonna see if I can get a rudimentary base line under it.

Just that it's been a pretty good weekend so far!

Showered, shaved, and I'm doing my laundry right now.
We got another good rain this afternoon... enough to leave standing puddles of water on the sidewalk.
It's possible we'll get a bit more between now and tomorrow night, but the forecast also calls for more later in the week, going through next weekend.
With all the grass I have to grow out there, I could use some normal rainfall for a while.
It's taking forever on those grass mats, even with the sprinklers running 20 minutes, twice a day!

I did figure out how to get a very basic piano line into my song this afternoon, using a feature called the piano roll.
The midi keyboard wasn't necessary for that, but it's still useful as a reference to work out what I want to play.
I do that, and then I just click the notes into a measure, one by one, with the mouse.
I can do this with any sampled insturment voice the software has available.

It's still slow going, but over the past 36 hours or so, I've got the basics down for building rhythm tracks and putting instruments in.
So... it's been a way better weekend than last weekend!
A fire on Friday... I got the softwar installed and am figuring it out... and we've gotten some good rain out there!
It's also gonna be a bit cooler the next few days.
There are a lot of nagging issues to take care of in the near future, but... I'll get it all taken care of.
