Wasted Day
Saturday, February 18th, 2023 11:58 pmThe big news for Friday the 17th was that Tim was able to give away Mom's organ... that white elephant in the music room!
We had brought the organ out to the side porch at the start of the week, and Tim had listed it online for FREE, but there were no responses on Monday, through Thursday.
We were just about to put it out on the parking to see if somebody would just take it, but he got a message on Friday morning, from a mother who's daughter really wanted it!
They came and picked it up... and were OVERJOYED that they'd gotten it for FREE!
So, both of Mom's white elephants, the hulking china cabinet, and the organ, both found new homes with people who will cherish them! Good job, Tim!

On Friday night, however, we stayed up too late drinking and I slept in today until 3PM!
A horrible way to start a three day weekend! I absolutely fucked my first day of it!
I did get down into the basement shop and got my plywood panel cut to fit the opening of the window upstairs, outside the bathroom. And I used my new jigsaw to cut a hole in the panel.
I got one of my two new cat doors mounted into the panel, and then I stained the outside face of the panel, and painted the inside face.
Lastly, I caulked around the outside rim of the cat door jamb with Dynaflex Ultra... an all weather, outdoor caulk... and the whole thing was ready to install upstairs!..
...hours after dark!

So now, the plan is to try and get up early tomorrow and install the cat door first thing in the morning, so that I have all day to coach the cats in using it, and getting off of, and back onto the roof.
It's supposed to be 50F tomorrow, so it should be a good day for it!
Don't know if there will be time to install the second door downstairs, into the back door, but I'd like to.
That way, if they can't figure out how to get off of, or back up to the roof, they have an easier way in and out.
But I'm glad I did the upstairs cat door first, because it wasn't exactly easy, and the practice I had today will make the install into the back door go more smoothly.

That's all for tonight.
Shorty entry.
