Family Vibes?

79F this evening and partly cloudy, after a high of 90F this afternoon.
I clocked in at the high school at 2:05PM.
After doing the readings and rounds, I brought the backpack vac out to the car, which was parked up by the dock.
It took two extension cords to get me out there from the nearest outlet inside the shop area.
Though I was parked in the shade, sweat was still dripping off my head as I vacuumed the inside of the car, passenger side, driver side, back seat, and cargo area.
First vacuum it's had since I bought the thing in spring of 2022!
After sitting in the car's AC to cool off for a while, I cleaned the dash, console, and door interiors, front back and cargo, with a spray bottle of fabuloso and a blue rag.
The upholstery's still dirty, but the car's interior is much cleaner than it's been since the move last year.
Clocked out at 4:05, got my groceries... then gas & smokes... then back home.
I picked up where I left off last night, comping, Bed In The Suburbs, but it's still not done!
I'm at the end, where the chorus repeats four times in a row, and it's a bit of a torture!
But the vocals for this one are very solid!
Dylan called out of the blue last night around 9PM!
He was perfectly sane and sober too!
So it was quite a nice treat to finally have him on the phone, and I was finally able to explain to him exactly how and why the house was lost... because he'd been very concerned about it, but Brian never tried to explain it... cuz Brian wasn't really involved in the drama, and didn't understand the details.
Tim called, while we were talking, so I merged him in, and for another hour it was the three of us, before Dylan signed off.
Then Kevin texted out of nowhere today, to Brian and I, saying he was thinking of coming to visit us in October, and what was a good time?
This came as a total shock, because I really assumed that now that both Mom & Dad are dead, and the house is gone, Kevin would never return to Illinois again!
But I told him that Collee was gonna be here between September 11th and 14th, and we were gonna try to clear out the storage unit, so... could he make it for that?
He said he'd see if he could work it out.
So that'd be cool if Kevin and Colleen are here at the same time, because it'll guarantee that Brian will show, and we should be able to truly clear out that storage unit, and be done with it.
And I feel like it will work out that way... because here was Kevin surprising me with a willingness to come here just to see Brian and I... literally AS I was vacuuming out the van that I've emptied for the purpose of storing my stuff from that storage unit in the cargo hold, next month!
My mid-summer break is finally in sight!
Just gotta get through MON, TUE, and WED this week, at work!
I've just booked Studio C for FRI, AUG 01, 3-5PM.
Archeology, will be the song.
I've dismantled and hollowed out the USB condenser mike I bought for the studio back in June of 2023, that I didn't like the sound of.
The shell will house my, "electret of despair," mike!
A basic condenser mike element, that will be soldered to a long stretch of unshielded wire, that will hopefully pick up all kinds of radio interference... with the goal being to recreate the sound of a stressed-out boombox condenser mike from the early 1990s, for the verses in the song.
I've also gotta prepare for the mid-summer ritual, which will involve making an amulet of the labradorite stone I got yesterday, from H+H.
So, I'll have some stuff to keep me busy after work, these three worknights before the break!
