Recorded Release?

70F and partly sunny this morning, on it's way up to 75F

More fun this week as I try to resolve an issue with the final 5K from the house sale.

It never came in the mail, so I called the title company and Jessica said she was waiting on a, "recorded release" form from the lawyers?.. whatever that is.

So I texted Jim and he didn't know what I was talking about.

So I asked Jessica to call him, and she left him a message, but now Jim's acting like he didn't get any message, so she's gonna try calling him again today, but really it's his job to call her, and... typical red tape bullshit!

But she had mentioned something about how this release needs to show that the foreclosure was dropped, and Mr. Taylor had said weeks ago that sometimes that's a final detail that gets missed?

So this needs to be resolved not just for the 5K, but to make sure there's no forclosure on my record.

Because that would prevent me from buying a home or renting anywhere other than here for the next 5 years.

Meanwhile I went to ComEd's website today to make sure Dad's account is closed.

I clicked on, "stop service."

It told me, "You already have a stop service request pending, but you can click here to edit it."

I cliked, edit.

It said, "You have no stop service request pending at this time."

So basically I cannot stop the service from the website, and have to call them!

Also Geico had been pestering me about being late on my car insurance payment, but I switched to AllState for that, last November.

And surprise, surprise... AllState forgot to ever notify Geico, and Geico has actually been auto-deducting all year from the AmEx!

So I did cancel the Geico fucking policy, but to get that money back I have to email an AllState declarations page to them.

So the loose ends of leaving Melody Manor are still not tied up!

Speaking of the house... there was no van there Friday or Monday, but it was back yesterday, and by last night, it looked like the livingroom had been drywalled.

The one van that's ever there has rusting out door panels at the bottom, and I'm now suspecting that this renovation's being done by just one or two guys... like Torres himself and maybe a helper occasionally.

So I think he's just being very casual about it... going slow... and apparently not updating the electrical at all!

So... this is not the picture I had in my head of a big team doing a thorough renovation to bring the place up to code for a market sale in 10 weeks.

I think this is more like... it's his house now, and he's gonna take his time with it, and then sell it off market to somebody he already knows, who isn't gonna be fussy about 100 year old electrical, or anything else.

I mean, we'll see... it is only week 3, but I'm starting to think that house won't even go on the market.

But... he does seem to be taking care of Prowly, so if he sells it so a family that continues on that way, then I guess it's for the best.
