ComEd Has Died?

A freakishly warm 57F and sunny today.

Haven't seen Snoop since Saturday, and I'm beginning to wonder if he just abandoned me for a new owner.

Prowly's still hanging close to home though.

No reply from Cheryl, to my email yesterday, requesting a timeline for what the firm is gonna be doing on my behalf.

So today I emailed Nicole herself with the same request, and let her know I had asked Cheryl first, but had not gotten a response.

All I can do is keep emailing them every day until somebody tells me something.

The refund from AllState hit my bank account just after midnight, so that was a bit of good news.

I tried to deal with ComEd (Commonwealth Edison Electrical Utility) today too.

They randomly did an autopay to Dad's zombie checking account last week, to the tune of $222.00, which overdrafted it... but that's not supposed to happen, because I changed that autopay last year!

So, I went to the website and... it said the entire site was down for scheduled maintenance and that the only customer service available was to call an 800 number.

So I called the number and the robot could not recognize the account number.

I selected to talk to a human and... the robot came back and said that, due to technical issues, no service reps were available, so I needed to go to the website!

So!..

ComEd, the largest electrical utility in Illinois... who pull in 15 billion dollars a year... thinks it's perfectly acceptable for their entire customer service infrastructure to be down... indefinitely!

I guess that tracks, though, because BMO thinks it's okay for their personal bankers to just lie to people, and my law firm thinks its okay to just not do anything or communicate in any way.

That's the new American way... lie, take the money, and do nothing.

Everybody's doing it!

And meanwhile the electrical ghost of Dad's finances will not stop fucking with me!

The balloon is one thing, but his home insurance refused to die, and his electric bill wants to go back to the way things were!

It was a court holiday yesterday it takes time for documents to be uploaded.

Cheryl is out of the office all week. My paralegal Rachael will send you copies for your records.

Yesterday was Tuesday, the day after President's Day, but okay?

And why does Cheryl get to check out without anybody being notified?

And what's the client portal for, if none of this shows up there?

Whatever!.. Something was done, I guess.

Not sure what an appearance and and answer are, or what they do, but it's time to go to work soon, so I'll worry about it tomorrow.
