Mild and sunny out there on the first day of spring, with not only singing birds, but baby squirrels chasing each other all up and down the tree trunks, and around in the branches! Aaaawwwhhh?

But with spring comes new WIFI repeater headaches! As it's warmed up... even just to 50F outside, that things been overheating again, even with that fan on high!

It's not gonna be working at all, in a couple weeks!

I keep trying to search for, self cooling WIFI booster, and WIFI extender cooling fan, cooling system, reliable WIFI booster, but... what I'm looking for just doesn't exist!

I'm picturing something like I got, but with it's own built in cooling fan and they just don't make that, or a peripheral cooling fan.

It's like... I'm gonna have to turn the laundry closet into an IT room, with a climate control system to get this little plug-in extender to work!

I did get Geico on autopay with the AmEx this morning.

I also undid a drunken mistake I made last June before this blog began, which was registering Snoozefest.Net with Network Solutions, and then going to Bluehost to sign up for web hosting service.

Tim, who does web design in the modern day, was laughing about how I went to Network Solutions, because that was a very 2002 move! Also, there was no need to go to Bluehost, as Network Solutions does hosting now... albeit crappily.

The whole thing was a big mess that never went anywhere, but Bluehost was still hitting Dad's savings account for money... which triggered overdrafts.

So today I did cancel both services.

That was before I realized that, "Snoozefest," is a highly desirable domain for matress companies!

And when I did realize it, I changed the soundloud to SnoozefestAudio, and created this blog here on Dreamwidth for free.

Which reminds me... maybe it's finally time to start paying Dreamwidth!

1:30PM

Okay!.. I am now officially paying Dreamwidth.Org for their services! I'm very happy about this, because this is a great service, and they offer it free, but survive on donations and voluntary subscriptions.

I was broke last June when I started this journal, but now I'm employed, so it's time to do my part!

I also went to Photobucket, and put their autopay on AmEx. That's where all the photos come from, for this blog.

1:45PM

Okay! I just took care of Netflix and Disney Plus! Both of them are now on the AmEx too!.. as was Amazon Prime from the day the card went active!

I really think that's everything! It's almost all on the AmEx... which has an insane $15,000.00 limit. Only two things on Discover. And only two utilities that I have to pay manually (with the AmEx).

Two problem services cancelled.

And Dreamwidth finally getting paid!

This was a very successful morning!

Next step is to pay down the cards, pay off the car, and go down to liability insurance.

Nothing at all should be hitting the BMO accounts any more. So I do need to pay down that overdraft account, and then pump a little in there for service fees. But that should stabilize BMO, and then I just push money in for the mortgage every month.

As for that patio? I dunno. It is kind of a tall order! I need to get the yard cleaned up, including dismantling the SCOP, and cutting down the juniper growing next to it.

Once the space is all cleared, and raked and mowed, I'll take a closer look at how feasible it would be to do a patio this year.

and with that... I gotta get ready for work!

2:00AM

Kept thinking about the patio idea at work tonight... imagining it being done with square foot pavers... two tones.

What would the pattern be?

Took me four hours to decide that it has to be 13 X 13, instead of 12 X 12, because an odd number would have a center square! And... you know how much I like the number 13.

My feet did pretty well again tonight. Seems like they always act up a little, around hour six, but then it passes by hour seven.

I've been wearing toe spacers to bed at night, on my feet. I learned years ago that they work wonders, but I don't pretend to understand why.

Back at home, after taking the bins to the curb, and feeding the team their pate', I spent a couple hours working on the patio pattern.

I'd been waiting all day to do it!

My idea while at work was kind of a clover design, like so...

But when I saw it with my two eyes, I didn't like it, because it didn't look circular enough. Too klunky. Stick to squares.

I then worked up a second pattern....

To emphasize the directional arrow idea, and I liked this one better but... I dunno, it felt a little too... Arizona?

So I worked it some more and finally settled on this one for tonight!..

More back to the clover concept, but... good variation... I dunno I really like it!

At about $1.70 per paving square, any 13X13 grid would cost $287.30.

With gravel and sand, four low voltage lights, and some PVC to run the wire... it's a thousand dollars all day long.

But do I have the time and energy to excavate a 169 square foot area, two feet deep?

A contractor might be worth it?.. but... I know I'd look like a crazy man, asking them to orient the corners with the compass, and go with my little pattern design.

I dunno... thinking about this kept me entertained today, at least.

At the end of a long day, it's just nice to know I'm paying for Dreamwidth finally... and cancelled the stupid Network Solutions, and Bluehost services that were floating out there in the background since last June.

It's also nice to know I have flexibility to have set up two high-limit credit cards to act like bill catchers! That is the BEST use for credit!

Okay, it's been a long day! Talk to you tomorrow.
