Still Trying

snoozefestaudioIn theory, it's a perfect night for recording out there... 73F, with no wind, and all the humans and dogs are peaceful and quiet tonight. The S8 is out there in the middle of the back yard hanging over the grass, right now.
I heard several field crickets all chirping away in the lawn for once! Was it because I mowed?
They always shut up when you come close, but I put the tripod in a spot where, if they resume chirping and stay put, their signal should be good!
The leaf tappers aren't very active tonight, and I'm guessing maybe it had something to do with the fact that it rained just before sundown? Otherwise, I don't know why they'd take the night off, after they'd been doing so well, recently.

I still have not had a chance to listen to the Thursday and Friday recordings yet. It was a little sketchy with Dad today, on his first full day back from the hospital... not yet back to full strength.
I'm gonna have a LOT of material to listen through, and edit, when I finally get the chance again... Like 12 hours worth!
I had no idea, at the start of this month, that by the end of it, I'd be raising two kittens, trying to start a job, and caring for a sick Dad!
This was supposed to be a smooth sailing month where all I had to worry about was affording some groceries at Aldi, but otherwise would have all day every day to work on Snoozefest, with perfect crickets outside every night!
But September starts on Thursday!.. and God only knows what crazy ass bullshit that month's gonna have in store for me.
