59F and partly cloudy tonight.

When I drove by the house on the way to work I was shocked to see that the front bushes were gone!

It was really unsettling for me all day, because I just wasn't expecting it!

And it got me worried maybe they cut down Natalie too! Like... I just wasn't expecting them to be too focused on the yard!

So on the drive back tonight, I decided to stop and have a look around.

First, not only did they cut down the front bushes, but they also got rid of the juniper tree that was growing right in front of the music room!

I was actually happy to see that Juniper gone, because it was dying, too close to the house, and so tall I couldn't cut it down without it falling into a power line, or hitting a parked car on the street, or in the driveway.

The next thing I noticed was a bright light on upstairs, and through the windows I could clearly see that they've already redone at least the front room with new drywall!

And the light was coming from a new light fixture in the center of the ceiling!.. as opposed to the shitty old ceiling light that was close to the wall.

Something's still blocking all but the upper quarter of the livingroom windows (probably drywall), but I could see the old 1920s celing lamp was still there, and the walls were still yellowed old plaster.

The old windows are also still in place for the moment, including the storms I made last fall.

And I think the reason they got rid of the juniper and the bushes is to make it easier to do new siding and a new roof.

I then snuck up the driveway side to see that they got rid of the dog yard fence, which... again... no big loss.

But my firepit was still there, so hopefully Natlie is still there too, but it was too dark back in her corner of the yard to see.

But what surpised me most is that Prowly's cat door is still there, and it's working!

At first I though they blocked it off from the inside, because all I could see was black thorough the glass, but I tested it and sure enough... it still swings both ways!

So that tells me they don't suspect that my cat is still around!

I am 100% certain that Prowly's still going in there on the daily!

He may not have food in there, but that's still his house, and if his cat door's still working... he's going in there!

At night, he's probably content to just prowl around like he always did, but I'll be he's been in there in the early morning to snooze before the workers arrive, and in the late afternoon, after they call it quits.

And this weekend he'll probably be snoozing in there all day long.

So this is good to know!.. because it means he's able to keep track of how things are changing inside, and should have some understanding that these are not new people moving in... these are dudes who show up at a certain time, work on shit, and then leave for the night.

And he has time to adjust gradually as they ramp things up over the coming weeks... and is thus more likely to stick around and see how it ends... hopefully with me moving back!

And here I am doing kind of the same thing... driving by twice a day and then tonight, stopping to snoop around for a few minutes.

If he's aware of me doing that, then even more reason to stick close and see where this is all going.
