84F and partly cloudy this afternoon, going down to 70F tonight.

So I found out on Friday that the union negotiations were never at the end of August!.. the contract expires AUGUST 1ST!

So yeah!.. that big vote in the auditorium on Thursday was GeoStaff presenting us with their crappy proposal, and then 75% of us voting, NO!

I hate that I'm so in the dark about all of this and I don't know who to contact or where to go to get more in the loop!

But basically, GeoStaff now has only a few days to hash out a better offer, and if it's not good enough, we could be on strike NEXT THURSDAY!

I still have no clue whether the maintenance staff will strike separately if the custodial staff accepts the next offer.

Either way, I really hope we do strike, because all GeoStaff was offering was a dollar raise, and then like 25 cents more every six months for the next three years!

Clearly, if 75% of us voted no, it means people are fired up, and I know that electrician woman was also pretty fired up about maintenance striking no matter what.

So we'll have to see how it shakes out, but next week could be a very consequential week!.. because I'll not only be closing on the house sale, but could also be going on strike!

If so, that closing money will have come just in time!.. and I can survive on it until we win our $30.00 per hour, or whatever it ends up being!

Okay... so, I went out and stopped at Fiesta to get smokes, then at the house, ran hot water and left new food for Prowly, as per usual.

From there I drove out to the Aldi on Farnsworth & New York to get groceries.

Back at the tower, some asshole was parked in the loading zone, so I had to park up the block and walk my groceries to the trash door, before getting them up the freight elevator and into the flat.

Then it was back down to put the car away, and another walk back to the building.

Once inside, I put the smokes and groceries away, then took the garbage down to the trash room

Back upstairs again, I vacuumed the flat!

Now I'm gonna work on vocals.
