79F and sunny this morning.

Melissa from Taylor's new title office called to say there's no news on the BMO front other than she's been trying to email and call them and has gotten no response.

So I told her that's always the way with them, they never respond!

I told her they not only ignored discovery requests until they timed out, but also ignored the threat of a motion to compel.

So she was surprised to hear that, as they always are, and said they'd try to contact other branches of the bank... other than BMOs lawyer... to say, Hey! We're trying to pay this off, and see if it gets them anywhere.

Maybe I should try to call Loss Mitigation... they were always salivating to talk to me.

10:05PM

Because I'd had InstaCart deliver cat food to the front stoop last night, that's the first place I went when I got over to the house before work.

And that's when I noticed the mailbox was crammed full of mail.

Prowly's plate was clean as usual in the kitchen, so I left him more... and fresh dry food, while running the hot water.

But going through all that mail, I saw an envelope from the BMO lawyers!

I didn't open it until I'd driven to Potawatomi and parked, but IT WAS A PAYOUT REQUEST FOR THE HELOC, dated July 2nd!

This had to have been sent after the original title company requested it at the end of June, but for some dumb-ass reason, they sent it to the house!

And I haven't been checking that mail box much, because...

  1. I'd forwarded all my mail.

  2. The rest is junk mail for Dad & Mom

  3. Nobody told me to watch for this fucking thing in my own mail!

But these payout requests have expiration dates, and this one says it's good until FRIDAY!

So, it's still good, but only for a few more days!

I called Melissa and told her, and she asked me to text her snapshots of all the pages, so when I got to my desk inside, that's what I did.

I also texted that I could bring the document in to their office tomorrow if she wanted, and she responded, "That would be great!"

I texted Taylor about it too, and sent him a snapshot, which I don't think he saw, becasue he asked the expiration date.

I told him it was Friday.

His response, "Get it in there! ASAP!"

I texted Melissa back asking if they had a mail slot I could drop it into tonight after work, but she never texted back.

I thought about driving it over on my lunch break, but that wasn't until 4PM, and I'm not sure when their office closes.

--<>--

So I will have to bring it to their office first thing in the morning, but I'm also thinking Melissa should've been able to see all the information she needed right there in the photograph!

The breakdown of what's owed, the expiration for the offer, the phone numbers, and the address to send the check to, and the other instructions, like what to put in the memo, etc.

So I'm hoping Melissa just got right on it, as soon as she got the photo... and that's the reason she didn't text back... cuz she was busy.

So... there's reason to be optomistic tonight.

BUT... it does expire on Friday, so is that enough time for them to close?

I'm thinking it should be, because they should have everything else they need by this point... the payout for the main mortgage, the city transfer stamp, all the docs my siblings had signed & notarized, and all the other bullshit.

So, finger's crossed I guess!
