First Lone Day

77F and sunny this morning.

Just waking up from a fairly sound 8 hours of sleep on the twin bed.

Turning onto my left and right sides was far less tricky than the first night, so I think it'll be pretty automatic in another week or two.

But having my old blanket and pillows really did the trick.

I do have to install that vinyl pull shade today, however... to lay against the glass itself.

The blinds hang 4" in front, and only down to the AC unit.

But my head on the bed is below that gap, so when I'm on my left side, I still get the full blazing glory of the eastern morning sun in my face.

So there's the shade to do... and I also need groceries.

Also need to mail AT&T back the old WiFi equipment.

What else?..

Oh!.. I should drop by 5/3 bank and deposit the cash I have from the tools.

And I need to visit the house to run the hot water a while and leave more food out for Prowly.

Okay!.. just installed the shade and it works GREAT!

I pulled it down, then closed the blinds, and the room was truly dark!

Okay... guess it's over to the UPS store next, then Aldi, then the house, then the bank.

Well... that was a DAMN productive afternoon!

First I stopped at the UPS Store on Galena and dropped off the wifi equipment.

All they needed was my last name, and a quick scan of the bottom of the router!

I then went a few blocks further west to Aldi and got four bags worth of groceries, which I loaded into the car.

After that, I headed over to Melody Manor, stopping at Fiesta Food Mart for smokes.

A guy wanted to meet me there at 2PM to look at buying some stuff in the shed.

At the house I ran the hot water and saw that Prowly had eaten all of yesterday's moist food, so I left out more on the table for him.

But then when I went to check the upstairs, there he was sleeping on my bed!

I pet him for a while and he did not act like it was any big deal to see me... as if I had not been missing for two days.

I came back downstairs and Prowly just continued his snooze upstairs.

I met the guy at 2PM, and he wound up buying a bunch of shovels and other tools, plus the two sprinklers and the wheelbarrow, for $120.00.

After he was gone, I loaded Prowly's litter box, with litter and scoop into the car, thinking... if there's still a chance to get him here... I'd need the litterbox in place the second I bring him inside.

I didn't try to grab him today, because I did have all the groceries to bring up... and also, he's not fixed, and the vet won't be open again until Monday.

But I can't call in on Monday after having taken a whole week off, so the earliest possible chance to get Prowly would be Tuesday morning... IF I called in sick, and IF he happened to be in the house, early that morning.

At any rate, I locked up the house and headed back downtown.

I stopped at 5/3 bank and deposited all the cash I've gotten for the tools... a total of $324.00.

With the 100 I used to start the account, I now have $424.00 in there as an emergency fund.

I then stopped in the tower's loading area, brought my groceries up and put them away, then put the car away in the parking garage and walked back.

I also saw this morning that the TikTok I re-uploaded yesterday as a test, finally had some views, so I began re-uploading the other four lost videos from July 3rd, one at a time, as I ran these errands today.

Each time one went up, I'd wait until it got a few views to upload the next one.

But now all five, from Wednesday are there, and people can see them!

So I don't know what the issue was on the 3rd & 4th, but it's resolved.

I'm just sad I didn't get to upload anything yesterday, on Colleen's last day here.

5:20PM

Finally fired up the studio computer and, just to get back in the swing of things... started tweaking the guitar line on, Other Friends.

It felt strange... a little sad and guilty... to be working on music again, because I haven't done it since late April, when Yvette was still listening on from the kitchen, awaiting her next walk... and Prowly was in and out, occasionally sitting in on the recording session too.

Sad... that all of that is gone.

Guilty... to try enjoying myself without her to walk, him to feed, them to pet.
