91F and partly cloudy this afternoon.

I'm just trying to wake up with my coffee right now.

The plan today is to get the rest of my own stuff packed and staged, starting upstairs, then the main floor, then the basement.

I'm gonna be putting furniture out on the parking, as well... and washing stuff, like throw rugs and the cushions of the rocker on the porch.

2:46PM

I got both the old night stands out of the studio and upstairs for either side of the bed... one to replace the one I'm taking, and the other to hold a lamp that replaces the sconce lamp that was over the bed.

The good night stand and the sconce lamp, along with the two other good lamps from up there are now down in the living room.

I'm finding cat toys and throwing them into an open box up there, just in case I decide to bring Prowly with me at the last minute.

Brian suggested last night on the phone that I give it a try, and if it doesn't work out, I can always bring him back to the neighborhood and set him loose.

I'm thinking about it, but I don't know if it's such a great idea.

I'm also washing some throw rugs right now.

3:57PM

Got all the upstairs pictures & wall hangings boxed up, with old T-shirts as packing material.

Rugs are out of the washer, and a small stand table is out on the parking.

Those vacuum bags are a miracle! I've bagged up a blanket, four pillows, and a third bag with a bunch of jackets, and just with a hand pump, they're all super vacuum sealed!

I'm gonna keep them for use in the apartment to store seldom used things in that tiny closet.

I'm liking the idea of taking prowly with, more and more as the day goes.

I could keep tabs on him with one of my security cameras in the apartment.

And maybe I could train him to wear a harness and come outside on walks with me?

I dunno... maybe it's crazy.

But he is only two years old.

Maybe if I got him fixed, he'd be tameable.

5:17PM

Okay time for a break and the evening's first beer.

Everything from upstairs that's going with me is out!.. except for one little box I still have to close up and bring down.

Clothes, pictures, brick a brack, power strips, lamps, a couple small stands, matts... and a big bag of garbage.

In addition all seven lamps... my three pairs, plus the sconce, are downstairs with the shades off and the bulbs out, waiting to be packed next.

The studio's the next room to tackle... still lots of random shit in there, including the guitars, which have to go back into their cases. Still not sure if I should keep the bass guitars in storage, or sell them.

I think I'll sell the acoustic electric bass, and maybe keep the Gibson.

That stand table out on the parking now has my old Desktop cabinet on it, along with an old metal lamp from the basement that belonged to Dad.

That old Desktop machine was a Windows Vista machine from 2010 that I used until the end of 2014.

I only today, finally removed the hard drive... which is in my last box of random stuff up there.

Why I did not do that years ago, I don't know!

But the scrappers should snatch that up pretty quick.

8:24PM

Okay, got a lot done over the last three hours.

First, I made a run to Wallgreens for more packing tape, then stopped at Fiesta for smokes on the way back.

Then I packed up all seven lamps in one box, and all their lampshades in another box.

Also tied up the loose ends upstairs... taping up the final box and bringing it down... and bringing down the acoustic bass guitar, which went in the music room on a stand.

I put Brian's old guitar on the parking, because he beat it up to shit and drew on it with markers so it's not sellable.

I also put two chairs and some empty plastic storage bins on the curb... that were taking up space on the porch.

I have no use for giant storage bins! All they do is... be insanely heavy, and take up way too much space.

I put my Gibson bass in it's case on the porch, for possible storage, then got to work clearing out the studio!

The blanket and sheets for the twin bed are in the washer... the mattress and platform are in the living room.

The 1920s desk that was in there, is now on the porch... it would not go into the music room.

All the other shit that was in there went either into the garbage, or into a box for random shit.

And then I vacuumed the rug in there.

Now I'm taking a break, but the next step is to wire brush the hell out of that rug... vaccuum it again... and then roll it up.

I won't get the dry shampoo until thursday, so I'll have to shampoo it at the new place.

12:32AM

Just got off the phone with Colleen & Tim.

We had thunderstorms roll in after dark... multiple! Lightning's been flashing with thunder and rain for over an hour now... and of course I'm not set up to record it!

But I did continue to be productive tonight.

Before calling colleen, I got the studio rug vacuumed and brushed, and I'll give it a second brushing and vacuum tomorrow.

But while talking with her and Tim I packed up the downstairs decor, and vacuum sealed a bunch of rugs, including the runner rug.

And the twin bedding is in the dryer.

So I feel like I made a ton of progress today, and tomorrow's gonna be about the basement, and running things to the storage unit.

The week to come should just be tying up loose ends, and by Sunday when I get the truck I should be fully ready to make the move.
