INTO JUNE

75F and partly cloudy today.

I slept in until 1PM, but then right after making the coffee I was off to the storage unit.

The journals had been loaded into the van last night, so I just drove to the unit, and tossed them in there.

As soon as I was back home, I paid the bills.

------------{=0=}------------

For May, I'd pointed the utilities and insurance to the Wells Fargo card, and it had worked, but it doesn't have a very high limit, so I couldn't do that again for June.

AT&T had reverted to pulling from AmEx, and by some miracle got their money yesterday.

Water, gas, and garbage were good, but I have to pay ComEd and AllState out of Tuesday's paycheck. Neither are due until mid month.

But the car and all the cards were paid, again with most cards getting more than the minimum, and some getting double the minimum.

So I'm good to go for June!

I still have 11K available credit left, so if there's no other option, I can pay the rent & moving expenses with cards.

Come July there will be no more electric, gas, water, or garbage bills.

And if I can unload the house, then no home insurance either.

Also by then, the paychecks will be bigger.

So it looks like I'm gonna be able to squeak through into the new life. But there's gonna be a lot of cedit card debt to pay down. And I still don't know what I'm doing about PNC over the long run.

I do have my new checking account with 5/3 bank as the place to point my direct deposits if I have to duck PNC.

But if things go well with the union negotiations, I may get enough of a pay bump to continue paying them.

But that wouldn't kick in until September, so... not sure how to deal with PNC through July and August.

I do however plan to pay them for June, on the 18th.

Tuesday's paycheck, the 4th, will pay, as I said, ComEd, and AllState, and then the rest will go to rent & deposit for Allerton.

I'll only make a dent in what's owed to Allerton on Tuesday, but then I've got the rest of the month to keep at it, and credit cards if necessary.

It's always a big psychological hurdle to pay the bills at the start of the month.

I always dread it for a week ahead of time, and then procrastinate when the time comes.

But now that it's done, once again... I can put all my focus on the move!

6:52PM

I got down in the basement and managed to get the meiter saw, on it's stand, out of the cellar and into my car.

But it's hot, and I was sweaty, so I took a break and called Colleen.

After that, I walked to Fiesta for smokes, and now I'm back.

So, this is definitely not a very productive weekend for moving, but I've made a little progress.

Taking care of the journals and the saw have cleared out one corner of the basement, at least.

And it's good to know the journals are safe.

And I also paid the bills, which was the most important thing to do.

But I'm not feeling a ton of motivation to do much more tonight.

7:48PM

Okay!.. I got down there and sorted all the hand tools into two bags and a bucket boss, and got them all into the car.

I also loaded in my sander, a giant extension cord, and my spare drill & impact driver, along with three 5AH batteries, and three chargers.

All the hand tools were spares, including a little go bag.

I still have my main bucket boss and go bag up here, for home, along with my main drill and impact drivers.

There are still a lot more power tools to get over to PVHS over the week, but tonight's car load is a good start.

And I have more batteries and chargers too.

So, a dent's been made in the basement shit, but there is still a ton more shit down there to either throw away or sell!

It's sad how good of a shop that turned into down there, with so many tools, and shelves full of supplies, and tons of scrap lumber and other materials.

Sad, because I only used it for four years!

But at least I'll get to take most of that shit with me to the shop at work.

And the sink & exhaust fan will be there in the cellar for the next guy, if the house survives.

9:24PM

I'm all clean & shiny, my laundry's in the washer, and I've ordered groceries for the morning.

Like all two-day weekends, this one went too fast.
