Hope for March

A frigid 24F out there this morning, and windy, but sunny.
That's quite a slap in the face after it being 70F yesterday, but I did see the first signs of life out there in the back yard...

Buds on an ash tree.

The first bluebells, not yet opened.
The onion grass is also coming up around the yard, as well as the first hints of tiger lilly sprouts.
I managed to finally view my (dad's) account on ComEd's website.
I was able to change the autopay to my checking account, but they no longer offer the option to use a credit card for autopay, which makes me furious.
A notice at the top of the page said their customer service lines are open again, so... with the new account number, I called, because I want to get the electric out of Dad's name and into my own.
The robot said the current wait time is an hour to 90 minutes!.. so I stayed on hold and went to pay the March bill early... because it'll hit on the 18th, right after PNC takes most of my money.
I figured I'd pay early with the AmEx, but then it said it was unable to load the payment screen at this time!
So... seeing that the website is still having issues loading certain things, and knowing that the hold times are over an hour told me that they must still be overwhelmed with angry and confused customers, calling and trying to pay online.
So I hung up the phone.
I'll have to give them another week for their bullshit to settle down.
I just have to remember to get that March bill paid before the 18th!
I also Zelled enough money into the BMO account to cover both the mortgage and the overdraft that ComEd triggered.
I'll give it time to get in there, and tonight I'll pay down the overdraft protection account.
Then the mortgage will auto-deduct like normal, between the 1st and the 6th.
And I should have enough left in my own checking to cover the car payment and the minimums to all the credit cards.
Tomorrow is the last day of February, so I'll deal with paying those bills before work tomorrow.
Then come Friday morning, March 1st, I should be all safe and sound for another month!
