40F and cloudy.

It's been a busy Thursday.

I slept in, and then Yvette and I went for a longish walk.

When I got back, there were groceries to bring in, but not before I finally shoveled the ice off the front walk!

My front walk was one of the only ones left in the neighborhood that wasn't clear, but thankfully I got it taken care of... and then put away the groceries.

After that I was down in the basement trying to film one of my keychimes in motion with my phone, to test an idea I have for the video, for the old song, The Keys.

See, last week, when doing the lyric video for the fourth, Coffeehouse Boyfriend song, I realized I could save them in the lossless WebM format, rather than as MP4s... which meant better sound and picture quality.

So I realized I had to go back and resave the first three.

But upon reviewing the first three, I realized I could do better with the way the lyrics were presented.

Then I realized I could do better also with the splash cards.

So, next thing you know I was completely redoing the first song, Right Where You Left Me, which didn't take that long...

But then I had to totally redo the second song, No Clever Way, which took four days!.. because that song has so many goddam wordy verses to it!

And in the process, I realized I had a few more drawings of Kate, so I created new splash cards to fade them in and out as the song goes.

And the results are good!.. the first two tracks now have much better videos.

But song number three is, The Keys and my test today was to film the key chime in motion, spinning, and see if I could slow it down, which I could!

And it's gonna look pretty nice, but I have to get a better video, where the keys are centered properly, and zoomed in well... with good lighting.

And that's gonna take more time than I have this morning.

But, basically, I've upped the game on myself with these lyric videos, and all of them are gonna take a bit more effort now.

But yes, it's finally Thursday, and the world has more or less returned to normal.

We still have plenty of snow cover, but the sidewalks are walkable everywhere.

Work's returned to normal too... no more salty entrances and hallways.

And I've got gas and groceries here at home.

The garbage and laundry are all caught up.

The space heater back here's been back on it's smart switch for a few days.

And the cats are back to being outside all night long.

In other news, I got a notice from TikTok yesterday that Avril Lavignes about to start a greatest hits tour in May.

I got a code to pre-order tickets for the Chicago show in September.

I thought about it... but... I don't have $130.00 to blow right now.

Also I'm a bit old to be going to a rock concert alone, to stand for two hours, surrounded by strangers, going deaf, while holding in my pee.

If my life wasn't falling apart, and I had a friend in the world, I'd consider it though.

12:06AM

It started raining around 6PM, and it's been going for hours.

I heard on TikTok that the last three nights have been the foggiest in American history.

Yesterday I heard that NYC had gone without a full inch of snow for 700 days... which ended last week.

So, when I say I'm waiting for things to go back to normal... ya know... what I mean is, walkable sidewalks and temperatures the house can handle, like +16 or more.

I don't actually think normal, for February, is... back to the 40sF until spring, and no more snow until next year.

But... that may be the new normal!

Prowly just came in from the rain!

I've been worried about him, becuase I haven't seen him since Tuesday night.

These two really are all-weather cats!

Okay, I've gotta film those keys down in the basement.
