20F and sunny today, which means icicles are melting, and crusty snow is softening up a bit.

We got back all the cold water everywhere last night, about an hour after I got home.

And Yvette and I went for quite a long walk this morning, down to Hoyles, then back to the other end of the block and back behind on Talma and South Ave.

A small instacart delivery was on the stoop this morning... cat and dog food, paper plates, and all-important aluminum foil

And I finally took the garbage out!

I missed the pick up on Tuesday... thinking it would be Wednesday this week, because I had Monday off.

So since I'd missed it, and it was so cold, I just let it pile up in here until today.

I also went salted a bit more outside, as it's finally warm enough for the salt to work.

The uncertainty about the weekend continues, with NOAA saying it'll be double digits below, but WeaWow saying only single digits below.

But both agree that the weekend highs will be 10F on SAT, 20F on SUN, and 30F on MON.

I'm still predicting that NOAA is wrong here, because they always seem to exaggerate the severity of both heat waves and cold snaps.

Well, it's snowing again... fine dry snow, but it is building up, and it's gonna go for four or five more hours.

It's down to 11F, and will stay that way all through tomorrow, but after -17F, eleven's pretty good!

Work's more exhausting when it's snowy, because it takes forever to vacuum up all the salt, and you can feel the backpack vac getting heavier as it fills up.

Then we also have to run the floor machine every night to get the salty footprints off the hallway floors.

But I shouldn't complain, because the head custodian has to show up early and actually plow the damn sidewalks outside, and then salt them, all out in the cold with no heater.
