34F and snowy today.

It snowed a couple inches last night, and it's all white out there now, despite being above freezing this afternoon.

Snow seems so rare these days, but it's a recent phenomenon.

All the way up through the 20-teens the stuff would just pile up all January and February.

I used to regularly drive home in driving snow at night from Elgin, and I remember having to shovel outside at least three times a week, all winter long.

But just in the last few years, snow's become super rare.

I'm gonna get outside soon to draftproof around the house... armed with garbage bags, foam board, duct tape, and bungee cords.

I plan to bungee trash bags around the basement exhaust fan, and the back room AC unit.

The foam panels are also for the AC window back here.

I'm also waiting on Amazon to deliver a WiFi extender for the basement, and a transformer for the garden lights I want to install out by the driveway.

As far as the album goes, I did continue yesterday to finish up with problem lyrics to a couple songs.

Miss Fortune is now done, as is, Archeology which needed a final verse.

And in the studio, the plan is to tweak all the existing bass lines this weekend, to make them either longer, slower, lower, or whatever.

That way I can sing along with them properly, during the week.

So, basically this weekend is just about preparing for next weekend, when it will be super cold, but I'll also have three days to piano roll the final two bass lines.

Not done yet, but I'm taking a break.

I started with the back room AC, cutting three pieces of foam board to fit into the voids above the storm, and to the left and right of the machine... and duct taped them into place.

Here's a closer look at one of the foam board pieces.

And then I bungee corded a garbage bag around the AC itself.

I don't know if the gas heat vent next to it will be a problem or not, but if so, I'll bungee a bag around that too.

For the cellar exhaust fan, I caulked where the housing comes out of the panel, and then I duct taped a piece of foam board over the louvers.

Over on the south side of the back room, I taped garbage bag plastic over the whole window frame.

The insides of these two side windows also have plastic covering the entire window frame.

In the kitchen, same deal... in front of the screen, but behind the casement panes.

And... same deal for the bathroom window on the porch side.

I'll duct tape on the inside of the bathroom window as well.

Meanwhile upstairs, I've gotten a start on the AC in the front window.

All I need to do up there is cut foam board and tape it into place.

And I think all that leaves is the music room casement window.

I may just call it quits on this today and get the rest tomorrow.

I'm still waiting on the stuff from Amazon.

And I kinda want to get into the studio and get things started before it's dog walking time.
