House Cleaning PT3

55F and sunny with a good breeze this morning. Good day for a lawn mow!
I was out of bed by 9:40 this morning and we were outside by 10:15.
While out there, I opened up the basement and the shed... got the batteries into the mower... and then reeled up all 250 feet of my hoses.

So only just today, did that hose reel I bought back in April finally get used.
But now the water is out of them, and they're stored safely in the shed for the winter, along with the sprinklers, sprayer, and bubbler.
A second pot of coffee just got done brewing... so now it's time to get out there and knock out the back yard.
Done with the lawn mow!
Back, north side, south side, and dog yard are done.
I don't care about the front.
It was a struggle in the far back, beyond the firepit. Thick and wet, bogging down the mower... and the 10AH batteries died right at the firepit.
A pair of 5AH got me from there to the house.
A second pair of 5AH got the rest.
Nice to have it done before 2PM, and have the hose put away!
Now I take a break, and then it's all about the kitchen.

The puppy wanted to go for a walk after my break, and we saw that the fall colors are just today beginning the peak... which usually lasts a week or two.
On our way back, a guy driving an ice cream truck gave us a milkbone for Yvette, and she hurried home with it in her mouth to eat in the back room!
Surprise treat!
Back at home, I washed all the dishes and the stovetop hardware, and got a start on the sink and counter.
Coffee brewing now.
I'm gonna hit the stove and oven next.
Stove & oven done, inside and out. Fridge done outside... not doing inside... not too bad.
Sonce lamps also done... chrome shined up.
I'm taking another break before hitting the washer/dryer stack unit, because it's right there by the oven & fridge.
Then I'll keep working around the kitchen back to the counter.
Hit the table and counter, then hit the floor!
Sheila is on a plane right now.
Colleen & Celina arrived in Geneva at 4:09. They're setting up camp in the Air B&B.
Kitchen is done except for the floor.
Sheila just landed.
There was a smoke run, which triggered a dog walk when I got back. I called Colleen & Celina on the walk, and we talked until Sheila got to their air B&B from the airport, and they ordered food.
While on the phone with them, I cleared out the kitchen floor and scrubbed and mopped it... also washed the rug by the sink, that Yvette spends so much time on.
Kitchen is done now, and everything in there is back together.
A load of mop pads is in the washer.
All the rags are clean and dry.
I went down in the basement and shut off & drained the hose line to the outside. Should be good for winter.
Brought up the little shark vac from down there, and I'm gonna hit the little matts on the porch, and put them all back.
Shower curtain is also back in the upstairs bathroom.
It's also raining right now.
Tomorrow's plan is to get the deed from the city, drive it to Geneva to get recorded, then go visit Sheila, Colleen & Celina. We'll eat.
Sheila will go pick up her son Mike and his now fiance' Kate (they just announced a wedding date today) from the airport.
We will come back here and wait for Tim and his family to arrive around 5 or 6PM.
Tim's kids will help me decorate the interior with the bats and window clings tomorrow.
Brian has spent the past three days moving out of his rehearsal space, while I've been here cleaning the house.
He just texted saying, "Almost done with the heartbreaking nightmare of moving out of my beloved Suite-7 after nearly 2 and a half years. Back to the storage unit for me. :8"
Hard to relate.
He went hog wild in there, painting all the trim in neon green and purple while painting the plaster walls black, and stuck up a fuck ton of pictures on the walls with double faced tape!
Insanity!
Ran stuff from the porch out to the shed.
Ran a few other porch items down to the cellar.
I'm gonna hit the matts with the shark in a minute.
Still raining out there.
Sitting here in the back room with a pack of baby wipes... gonna get this computer area while I'm on my little break.
Okay!.. I'm DONE!
I had six mats... I hit all of them with the shark, which has a rotating brush on it... and then I took the four of them that can go in the washer... and put them in the washer... where they are now washing.
The other two have been put back where they were... by the front door, and upstairs by my bed... for snowy shoes.
Everything in the back room was baby-wiped.
So... THAT'S IT!
The porch is gonna be catch as catch can, tomorrow and Friday... but I do intend to use the work bench out there on Saturday and Sunday to bind the rest of the house history books before everybody goes home on Monday.
The rain is gonna continue from now until friday morning... so... all day tomorrow.
Thank God I was able to mow the lawn this morning!
as a whole, the house is cleaner than it has been in at least 20 years!
Let's talk about my new system!
The caddy was a godsend!
Rubber gloves, rags, Fabuloso & bathroom cleaner in spray bottles... Kaboom for the stainless & chrome... one scrubbing sponge... a scraper, a squeegee, wall wiper with pads, and a roll of paper towels!
That caddy, plus having a garbage can in every room, and a vacuum cleaner on both floors... REALLY made things fast and easy!
Proof of concept!
So now I have the power to keep this house clean, and the only thing standing in my way is my own laziness!
I need to come up with a schedule to keep up on everything, and stick to it.
Matts are back in their places.
Nothing left to do but eat and go to bed.
