67F and partly cloudy with a chance of rain on this morning in early autumn 2023. I was out of bed by 9:25, and after the coffee was done, I was straight out the door and across town to the Lawyer's office.

I got there about 10:02AM, walked in, and signed the authorization for him to speak on my behalf to BMO. It took 30 seconds.

After that, I headed back and stopped at Glasshopper downtown, picked up my glass, and was back home by 10:20.

Yvette, Snoop, Prowly, and I, sat in the back yard for nearly an hour, enjoying the mild, sunny morning, full of birdsong, with the grass glistening from a rainshower that had passed through at sunrise.

Speaking of sunrise... The front porch light, both bushes, and the jack-o-lantern were off when I woke up!

So the socket and the timers are working... and I never grow tired of having house lights and decorations turn themselves on and off!

I brought my two frames out to make sure they both fit into their wells and they do.

The left one could use a bit of sanding on the vertical sides, so that it goes in easier, but that's it.

And this is our first glimpse at what the house will look like with the finished storms in place!

And it's strangely fitting for this first glimpse to be in such an auntumnal setting, with leaves in the grass and webs on the bushes... as that old storm, still sitting there on the far left, fell off and broke in early June, when summer was just getting started.

Here's a shot of Window B, with it's glass panes sitting in place.

All I have to do now is find a quick tutorial on how to correctly install the points to hold the panes in, and I can start glazing!

So, it's been quite the successful morning!

And today was a test run for tomorrow, in terms of getting up early enough to be somewhere by 10AM.

Okay, I got my glazing points in for Window B... because that's the window I don't have to plane or sand to fit...

But Window B does have an issue that, for whatever reason, the four bezel insets are all slightly different measurements.

Window A is perfectly uniform.

But I had to go with a glass pane size that would fit in all insets... meaning that on Window B, there are some fairly wide gaps between the edge of the glass and the bezel.

So for that, I used regular caulk, to act as a cushion...

The caulk just fills in the gaps to keep the panes from moving around, and it'll also be a base over which to lay the glaze... which is going to overlap onto the glass surface.

I've just looked at the tube of glazing compound and... it takes 72 hours to cure!

So, these windows will definitely not be installed on Sunday!

Intake, tomorrow, won't leave me any time to glaze so... if I do the back of B on Thursday morning... that window will not be safe to flip over until Sunday!

And if I glaze the exterior side on Sunday night... Window B won't be done until Wednesday the 4th.

Starting Window A on the 4th... it won't be done until the 10th, at the earliest.

I was kind of debating here whether I really need to glaze both sides.

Like... could I get away with a thin bead of Dynaflex Ultra on the fronts to keep the water out?

But no, I do need to glaze the fronts... because real windows are always glazed on the exterior.

Mine are only glazed on the interior because of my weird bezels, which wouldn't exist if I had a table saw and did this all the right way.

And no, I can't just flip the frames around to have the bezels facing out, because then I'd need to add mitered quarter-round around them, to... again... keep the rain off them.

In a nutshell... this is gonna take until the 10th or 11th.

Because this design was originally for big single sheets of acrylic glass... and got modified for real glass because of the economy.

Okay, well, I can still prep the sash windows this weekend, and get the turnbuckles in place... and sand the sides of Window A.

12:02AM

It was a routine night at work.

I made an instacart order to be delivered tomorrow between noon and 2PM.

And the garbage bins are on the curb.

All the Halloween lights were on when I got home.

So everything's functioning properly on that front.

I'm a little nervous about, intake tomorrow.

But she said something about bank information for direct deposit, so I guess I'm getting all but hired tomorrow.

There's still the background check, but I'll pass that. I passed for GeoStaff a year ago.

So... I'm pretty sure I'll be giving notice to GeoStaff tomorrow... or tomorrow night with an email for them to get on Thursday morning.

Pretty sure, but... there's no point speculating any further tonight.

It's been a long day, and I need to get to bed.
