ACE DIAMONDS

64F and overcast, with occasional gusts, on this first day of Ace Diamond week 2023. We've finally made it to fall! Well... by Saturday, anyway. But that's still part of Ace Diamond week!.. just barely.
The way this system is set up, the equinoxes and solstices always fall in the Ace weeks.
The dates for equinoxes and solstices do move around, over the course of years. And the solstices don't move too much, staying close to the 21st all the time.
But the equinox dates have a wider range. The March equinox can fall as early as the 19th. And the September equinox can fall as late as the 24th!.. which would put it on the first day of, 2 Diamonds Week!
But the last time that happened was over a thousand years ago. And the next time it will happen is 2303!.. two hundred and eighty years from now.
So this card system is pretty reliable.
As long as December 17th is Joker Day, and December 18th begins the Ace of Spades, you can safely assume that the solstices and equinoxes always happen during the Ace weeks.
Therefore, I'm calling it fall, right now!
The clamps, pegs, glue, etcetera was on the doorstep today when I got up around 1:40PM.
After a long sit out in the back with Snoop, Prowly, and Yvette, I fed them, unpacked the stuff, and got to work.
The boards all lined up perfectly when I dry fit them together with the pegs, so I managed to get everything drilled correctly yesterday.
But I realized today that one peg per joint was not very stable, so I marked and drilled second holes for all the corners...

Happily, those all lined up too!.. and it went quick!

I glued up all the joints for Window A, and attached the angle clamps.

The clamps work great! But I immediately regretted only buying four!

However, I had enough angle jigs and regular clamps to awkwardly hold Window B together, so I glued that one up as well.

Here it is out on the table.
Now they're both gonna cure and dry for a few days I guess.
I'm not gonna bother gluing the crossbars until I have my table back.
But now that I know what I'm doing, I can work a bit on this before work during the week, and should hopefully have everything together and dried by next Saturday.
And then the next step will be the square dowel bezels on the back, after which I can measure for the glass and order it.
It rained all night last night, and into this morning... then we had another little drizzle in the afternoon.
So Natalie's good to go, but the grass is too wet to mow this evening.
I mean, I could give it a go, but I'll kill the batteries half way through.
I still have a few things to do tonight, but it's dog walking time.
